Leica M6 TTL
The Leica M6 TTL is a 35mm rangefinder camera with the Leica M bayonet mount, introduced in 1998 as an update to the M6 with added TTL flash metering. It was produced in three viewfinder magnifications (0.58x, 0.72x and 0.85x) and in both black and chrome finishes, positioned as Leica's mechanical professional rangefinder until the electronically-shuttered M7 succeeded it in 2002.
At UK auction today, standard chrome and black M6 TTL bodies typically sell for around £1,000 to £2,600 at hammer, with a median value of roughly £2,200 across recent saleroom results. Special editions drive the range far wider: Titanium, LHSA and Millennium variants have fetched £5,000–£9,800 at auction, and one exceptional presentation example is worth well into five figures, with a documented £30,000 hammer price. Condition, viewfinder magnification and boxed completeness noticeably affect what a given body sells for.
