The UK Vintage Camera Price Index
What collectable cameras actually sold for at UK auction, and how that changed. Each edition compares a full year against the year before it, model by model, and states the sample behind every line. Published monthly. Editions are fixed once published, so a figure you cite stays put.
What this measures
Each edition takes every camera model that sold enough times at UK auction in both of two consecutive twelve-month periods, compares its median price across them, and reports the median of those changes. Matching each model against itself means the figure does not simply move with whatever happened to come to market. A new edition is published each month, and each one moves the twelve-month window forward by one month.
The records behind it are published auction results, collected and checked as described on our methodology page. Each edition also states plainly what it cannot tell you — condition is not held constant, and the set of salerooms we observe is not fixed.
