Micro Precision Products (MPP) Micro Technical Mk VII

The MPP Micro Technical Mk VII is a British-made 5x4 (4x5 inch) large format technical camera produced by Micro Precision Products of Kingston upon Thames. Introduced in the mid-1950s, it was positioned as a domestic alternative to German technical cameras for press, commercial and field photographers working on sheet film.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Micro Technical Mk VII have ranged from about £120 to £480, with a median close to £300 across the last two years. As of 2026 the camera's value is strongly condition-led: complete outfits with a clean rangefinder, intact bellows and a usable lens sell for the upper end of that range, while body-only or incomplete examples fetch well under £200. A £2,280 saleroom result from 2018 sits far outside the recent market and appears to reflect an exceptional outfit rather than what a typical Mk VII sells for today.
