Asahi Pentax 35mm f/4.5 (6x7) · Takumar Fisheye

{"overview":"The Asahi Pentax Takumar 6x7 35mm f\/4.5 Fisheye is an ultra-wide fisheye lens designed for the Pentax 6x7 medium-format SLR system. It produces a hemispherical image circle on 6x7 film and was intended for architectural, landscape and special-effects work where extreme angle of view is required.","market_narrative":"Sales data is very limited, with one UK auction hammer result of £185 in January 2025 providing the only recent reference point for what this fisheye is worth at saleroom level. As of today, that single data point should be treated as indicative rather than a firm market median, and clean copies with original caps and case can reasonably be expected to sell for more than scruffy examples when they appear in the auction market.","buying_guide":"Inspect the deeply curved front element for cleaning marks, coating scratches and edge chips, as the protruding glass is vulnerable to knocks. Check inside for fungus and haze, confirm the aperture blades snap cleanly with no oil, and test that focus is smooth rather than stiff or sticky; also verify the rear baffles and built-in filter mechanism, where fitted, are intact.","specs":"Medium-format fisheye for the Pentax 6x7 mount, 35mm focal length with a maximum aperture of f\/4.5.","faq":[{"q":"What is a Takumar 6x7 35mm f\/4.5 Fisheye worth?","a":"Based on the limited UK auction record available, one example sold for £185 at hammer in early 2025, which is the clearest current guide to value."},{"q":"How much does a Pentax 6x7 35mm Fisheye sell for at auction?","a":"The single recorded UK hammer price is £185, so condition, completeness and bidder interest on the day will determine where the next example lands relative to that figure."},{"q":"What mount does this lens use?","a":"It is made for the Pentax 6x7 medium-format bayonet and is not directly compatible with 35mm Pentax SLR bodies without an adapter."}],"confidence":35,"reasoning":"Only one sales record is available and no SPECS or variant data were supplied, so pricing and technical detail are necessarily thin."}
