What it is
{"overview":"The Beaulieu 5008-S is a Super 8 cine camera from the French manufacturer Beaulieu, positioned in the upper tier of the amateur and semi-professional movie camera market during the 1970s. As wholesale saleroom figures, these results sit below typical retail or specialist-dealer asking prices, and condition — particularly a working motor and clean optics — has a strong influence on what an example sells for.","buying_guide":"Common issues on Super 8 Beaulieu bodies of this era include drying lubricants in the motor, deteriorated battery contacts, and faulty exposure meters, so a working transport and metering system are the key things to inspect.

Questions
Is the Beaulieu 5008-S a good buy at this price?
For a Super 8 user it can represent reasonable value at current auction levels, but buyers should budget for a service given the age of the electronics and motor.
