Fed 35
The Fed 35 is a Soviet-made 35mm film camera produced by the FED works. It sits within the broader family of FED rangefinder-style bodies built for the consumer market.
At UK auction, hammer prices for the Fed 35 are modest: the only verified saleroom result on record is £101, achieved in October 2024. With just one data point in 2026, what a Fed 35 is worth today is condition-dependent, and clean, working examples sell for more than untested or cosmetically tired bodies.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.

Description:
Russian KGB device for taking clandestine photographs, black Ladies' handbag equipped with a FED 35mm-camera with standard lens FED 3.5/50mm. Serial no.of the device: 25053. Partly disassembled FED camera body and lens (rangefinder housing removed, lens front removed) set into a sturdy mechanism that offers film transportation and shutter release by pressing the handbag. The mechanism is quite well made of aluminium and generally functional, but needs adjustment. When the release point in the lower part of the handbag’s front is pressed, a hole in the bag’s front opens and the photograph is taken, pressing the lower part of the small side of the bag then transports the film. The opening for the lens is decorated with a brass bee ornament of some 6cm in diameter, the opening itself is about 13mm. Estimate: EUR 1,500 - EUR 2,000 |

Frequently asked questions
What is a Fed 35 worth at UK auction?

How much does a Fed 35 sell for today?
With limited sales data, the Fed 35 price today is best estimated near the £101 hammer result on file, with condition and completeness driving variation.
Is the Fed 35 a collectible camera?
It has collector interest as a Soviet 35mm film camera, but the thin auction record means value is modest compared with better-documented FED rangefinder models.
