What it is
A camera of this type is highly condition-sensitive at auction, and what one sells for on a given day can swing significantly with completeness and provenance.","buying_guide":"Because surviving examples are rare, buyers should inspect for completeness of the original concealment housing, integrity of any internal mechanism, and evidence of later restoration or replacement parts.

Questions
Why is the price so high?
Concealed and detective-style cameras from early makers are scarce on the collector market, and rarity combined with provenance tends to drive the price well above ordinary vintage camera levels.
