Voigtlander& Sohn Prominent 6x9

The Voigtländer Prominent 6x9 is a folding medium-format camera introduced in the early 1930s, taking eight 6x9cm frames on 120 roll film. It was positioned at the top of Voigtländer's range when new, with a coupled rangefinder and an integrated extinction meter that were unusual features for a folder of the period.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Prominent 6x9 have ranged from about £530 to £800, with a median around £650 — wholesale levels before buyer's premium. As of 2026 the camera's value remains condition-sensitive: clean, working examples with a functioning rangefinder sell for more, while bodies with bellows issues or a cloudy lens tend to trade below the median.
