Wray Wrayflex Ia

The Wrayflex Ia is a 35mm single-lens reflex camera produced by Wray of Bromley, one of the few British-built 35mm SLRs of the 1950s. It was positioned as a domestic alternative to continental reflex cameras when new and is now collected largely as a piece of British optical-industry history.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Wrayflex Ia have ranged from about £110 to £500, with a median close to £325 across the eight sales on record. The spread is condition-sensitive: in 2026 a tired example sold for £106, while cleaner bodies with a working lens have fetched £440–£500 at saleroom level in recent years, so today a representative working example is typically worth somewhere in the £300–£450 band at auction.
