What it is
The Contax S2 is a 35mm film SLR, a manual-focus body positioned within Contax's Yashica/Kyocera-era lineup using the Contax/Yashica lens mount. It was aimed at photographers who wanted a mechanical, metered SLR paired with Carl Zeiss T* optics.
Inspect the shutter at all speeds, check the meter response, and confirm the focusing screen and prism are free of haze, fungus or separation. Look for brassing and dents around the top plate, and verify the film-advance and self-timer operate smoothly; Kyocera-era Contax service support ended years ago, so independent repairers are the realistic route for any work.
