Dallmeyer (J.H.) Studio camera
The Dallmeyer Studio camera is a large-format wooden studio camera made by the long-established London optical firm J.H. Dallmeyer. Cameras of this type were used in portrait studios for plate photography from the late 19th into the early 20th century.
Sales data for this model is extremely thin: a single UK auction hammer result is on record, an example that sold at Christie's in May 2005 for £420 (wholesale saleroom level, before commission). With only one data point on file, today's value for a Dallmeyer studio camera is hard to pin down and any current price would depend heavily on completeness, condition of the woodwork and bellows, and whether an original Dallmeyer lens is still fitted.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
