The Leitz Super-Angulon 21mm f/4 is an ultra-wide-angle lens for Leica screw-mount and M-mount rangefinder bodies, produced between 1958 and 1963. It was a Jos. Schneider design derived from Schneider's Super Angulon wide-angle line, using nine elements in four groups with no cemented pairs, and was aimed at photographers needing a much wider field of view than the 28mm and 35mm lenses then available. Its deeply recessed rear group sits well inside the camera body, which is why it needs its own rear cap and will not fit the M5 or CL without special factory modification.
