Mamiya Press

The Mamiya Press is a Japanese medium format press/rangefinder camera system with interchangeable lenses and interchangeable roll-film backs. It was aimed at working press and commercial photographers who wanted larger-than-35mm negatives in a hand-held body, and sits alongside the later Universal Press in Mamiya's press-camera lineup.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for Mamiya Press bodies have typically fallen in a £94–£220 range, with a median around £140. A £220 result in January 2026 sits at the top of today's band and usually reflects a complete outfit with a lens and back, while body-only or cosmetically tired examples tend to hammer closer to £90–£140. These are saleroom results — wholesale levels rather than dealer retail — so condition, completeness of the lens/back/grip set, and working rangefinder coupling all move the number noticeably.
