Polaroid SX-70 Alpha 1 24 Kt Gold Mildred Scheel

{"overview":"The Polaroid SX-70 Alpha 1 24 Kt Gold Mildred Scheel is a special-edition gold-plated version of Polaroid's folding SLR instant camera, built on the SX-70 integral-film platform introduced in the 1970s. Because only a small number of hammer results are on file, today's value for any given example is highly sensitive to condition of the gold plating, completeness of presentation case and documentation, and whether the camera still fires; these are wholesale auction figures and dealer retail asking prices typically sit higher.","buying_guide":"Inspect the 24 kt gold plating for wear, rub-through on the viewfinder hood and shutter button, and handling marks on the leatherette panels, since plating condition drives price on commemorative editions. Check that the bellows are light-tight, the electronics wake when a film pack is inserted, and that the original presentation box, paperwork and Mildred Scheel branding are present.
