Rollei Rolleiflex I Original

The Rolleiflex I Original is the first Rolleiflex twin-lens reflex camera, introduced by Franke & Heidecke at the end of the 1920s. It is a medium-format TLR producing 6x6 negatives and was the camera that established the Rolleiflex line.

Given the age of this model, inspect the taking-lens glass for haze and separation, check that the shutter fires accurately on slow speeds, and confirm the focusing screen and viewing hood are intact. Film spool compatibility is a practical issue — the Original was designed for 117 roll film rather than the later 120 standard, so verify what the specific example will accept before buying to shoot with it. Service support is limited to specialist TLR repairers, so factor any required work into the price.
