What it is
{"overview":"The Toyo Field 45 A is a 4x5 large format folding field camera produced by Toyo Kogaku of Japan. Buyers researching what one is worth or sells for should cross-check completed listings, as values for large format field cameras are highly condition- and accessory-dependent.","buying_guide":"Inspect the bellows for pinholes by shining a torch inside in a dark room, check that all movements (rise, fall, tilt, swing, shift) lock firmly, and confirm the ground glass is intact and correctly registered.

Questions
What should I check when buying a Toyo Field 45 A?
Test the bellows for light leaks, confirm all standard movements lock without slipping, check the ground glass and Fresnel for cracks, and inspect the lens board mount and any included lens shutter for accurate speeds.
Is the Toyo Field 45 A worth buying today?
For photographers committed to 4x5 sheet film, a clean Toyo field camera remains a practical working tool, but the price you pay should reflect bellows condition, completeness of lens boards, and the state of the movements.
