What it is
{"overview":"The Toyo View G is a Japanese-made large format view camera produced by Toyo Kogaku for studio and field use. With no recent comparables, today's market value is difficult to pin down, and what a Toyo View G sells for now will depend heavily on completeness of accessories, bellows condition, and which lens (if any) is included.","buying_guide":"On any monorail view camera of this era, inspect the bellows for pinholes by shining a torch inside in a dark room, check that all standards lock firmly without drift, and confirm the ground glass is intact and seated correctly. Verify movements (rise, fall, shift, tilt, swing) operate smoothly and that the rail clamp holds position under load.

Questions
What should I check when buying a Toyo View G?
Test the bellows for light leaks, check the ground glass and Fresnel for cracks, and confirm all movements lock without slipping. Also check whether film holders, a lens board, and a lens are included, as these significantly affect total price.
Is the Toyo View G worth buying?
For a user wanting an affordable entry into large format, a complete Toyo View G can be practical, but buyers should budget separately for a lens, film holders, and any missing accessories rather than relying on the body price alone.
