Minolta Dynax 7xi

The Minolta Dynax 7xi is a 35mm autofocus SLR introduced in 1991 as part of Minolta's xi series, sold as the Maxxum 7xi in North America and the Alpha 7xi in Japan. It sat near the top of Minolta's consumer autofocus line when new, using the Minolta A-mount and featuring the xi-series expert intelligence system with powered-zoom xi lenses.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Dynax 7xi have been modest, with results of £25 in January 2025 and £44 in March 2023 giving a median around £35. Today in 2026 the camera sells for well under £50 at saleroom level in typical body-only condition, though a complete outfit with working xi power-zoom lenses can lift the value. Condition is the main driver of what a 7xi is worth, and hammer figures quoted here are wholesale auction results before commission.
