Nikon F2
The Nikon F2 is a professional 35mm SLR introduced in 1971 as the successor to the Nikon F. It pairs an all-mechanical shutter with the Nikon F bayonet mount and uses an interchangeable viewfinder system, allowing several metered prism variants to be fitted over the course of its production.
Hammer prices at recent UK auction have mostly sat in a £100–£300 band for F2 bodies, with a median around £160 across sales from 2023 to 2025. Condition and finder type drive the spread: clean, working examples with responsive prisms cluster at the upper end, while cosmetically worn or untested bodies bring results near £100. Older saleroom records from the 2000s, including a £780 result in 2005, sit well above today's typical levels.
