Devry Standard Automatic
The Devry Standard Automatic is a hand-cranked 35mm motion picture camera, a category of professional and semi-professional cine equipment introduced in the early decades of the twentieth century. It was sold as a portable field camera at a time when 35mm cine work was largely studio-bound.
Sales data for the Standard Automatic is extremely thin: a single UK auction-hammer result on file shows the camera selling for £300 in late 2010, a wholesale saleroom level rather than a dealer asking price. With only one record, today's value is best treated as indicative rather than a firm market price, and condition, completeness of the original case and accessories, and mechanical function will heavily influence what an example sells for.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
