Neubert Franz Neucaflex
The Neucaflex is a camera produced by the German maker Neubert Franz. Public reference data on this model is limited, so detailed positioning notes have been omitted in line with the site's accuracy policy.
Auction evidence for the Neucaflex is extremely thin: a single UK saleroom hammer result of £8,500 was recorded in June 2024, which is wholesale-level (excluding buyer's and seller's commission) rather than a retail asking price. With only one data point on file in 2026, that figure should be read as indicative of what one example sold for rather than a reliable market value, and the price a Neucaflex sells for today could vary significantly with condition, completeness and bidder interest on the day.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.

Auction: Leitz Auction 44 (Lot A00748) Title: Neubert Neucaflex
Description:
35mm SLR camera with 'periscopic' view finding, similar to the Periflex (and predating it). The camera was designed and made by Franz Robert Neubert in Jena in 1950, based on his earlier Leica copy, the Neuca. Made in very small numbers, only about 3-4 Neucaflex cameras are known to exist. It has a mirror and pentaprism, arranged to give a magnified view of the center of the frame in the viewfinder for focusing. When the shutter release is pressed slightly, both the mirror and pentaprism swing out of the optical path, and the eyepiece now forms part of a reverse Galilean finder for framing before exposure. The camera uses Leica-mount M39 lenses, and its controls (shutter speed selector, film advance and rewind knobs) are similar to those of a Leica. It has shutter speeds of 1/20 to 1/1000 second, plus 'Z'. After only a few months, production of a new version of the camera, the Ucaflex began, by UCA in Flensburg. The offered camera is in excellent condition, engraved with 'D.R.P. ang.' and bears no serial number, it comes with a black Meyer Primoplan 1.9/58mm no.1112818, an important camera from the early German post-war camera history! Estimate: EUR 7,000 - EUR 8,000 |
