Rouch Eureka (focal plane)
The Rouch Eureka (focal plane) is a British plate camera fitted with a focal-plane shutter, a body type associated with early twentieth-century field and reportage use. It was a specialist tool sold to photographers who needed faster shutter speeds than the leaf-shutter Eureka models offered.
Auction evidence for this model is thin: a single recorded UK saleroom result from 2014 saw an example sell for £900 at hammer (wholesale level, before commissions). With only one data point on record, today there is no reliable price band, and the value of any given Rouch Eureka focal-plane example will hinge heavily on completeness, shutter function and cosmetic condition.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
