Welta Kamera-werke Perfekta

The Welta Perfekta is a folding twin-lens reflex camera produced by Welta Kamera-werke of Freital, Germany, introduced in the 1930s. It takes 120 roll film and is distinguished by a collapsible bellows between the taking and viewing lenses — an unusual configuration for a TLR, which made the body more compact when closed.

Recorded hammer prices at UK auction span a wide band: £46 at Christie's in 1998, £850 at Leitz in 2018, and £162 at Flints in January 2024, giving a rough range of £46–£850 with a median near £160. In today's saleroom market a clean, working Perfekta typically sells for around the £160 level, while exceptional or collector-grade examples have proved capable of reaching several hundred pounds. Because it is a scarce folding TLR, condition and completeness drive price far more than on common roll-film cameras, and any individual result can diverge sharply from the median.
