The Canon Serenar 35mm f/3.5 is a compact wide-angle rangefinder lens in Leica screw (L39) mount, produced in the late 1940s and early 1950s before Canon adopted its own rangefinder bayonet. It was designed as an affordable wide-angle companion to Canon's early Leica-copy rangefinder bodies and also fits Leica III-series cameras.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the Serenar 35mm f/3.5 have ranged from £90 to £260, with a median around £175 based on the sales on file. As of today in 2026 a clean, haze-free copy with clear glass typically sells for somewhere in the middle of that band at saleroom level, while tired examples with cleaning marks or fungus fetch toward the lower end; the £260 result achieved at a Leitz sale in 2008 shows how much a cased, collector-grade example can be worth when presentation is strong.
