Hasselblad 1000F

The Hasselblad 1000F is a 6x6 medium format single-lens reflex film camera introduced in 1952 as the successor to the 1600F. It uses interchangeable film magazines and a cloth focal-plane shutter with a top speed of 1/1000 second, and was positioned as Victor Hasselblad's professional system camera before the leaf-shutter 500C replaced it in 1957.

At recent UK auction, 1000F bodies have typically sold for between £260 and £1,000, with a median hammer price of around £675 across the full dataset. 2024 results cluster tighter, with clean working examples fetching £500–£780 at saleroom level, while rough or shutter-faulty bodies have sold from about £320; outliers above £2,000 in earlier years were driven by outfits with multiple lenses and backs. Today the market is highly condition-sensitive because the focal-plane shutter is the camera's main weakness, so what a 1000F is worth depends heavily on whether the shutter runs cleanly at all speeds.
