Minox B black

The Minox B is a subminiature camera using 8×11mm film on Minox cassettes, a format Minox had produced since the 1930s. The B was introduced in the late 1950s and positioned as a refined version of the earlier Minox A, adding a built-in selenium meter while keeping the pocketable metal body. The black-finished variant is a less common cosmetic version of the standard chrome B.

At recent UK auction, hammer prices for the black Minox B have clustered in the low-to-mid hundreds, with recorded sales of £180, £230 and £250 giving a median around £230 and a range of roughly £180–£250. These are saleroom results rather than retail asking prices, and as of today values remain condition-sensitive: a working selenium meter, clean lens and intact black paint materially affect what the camera is worth, while later or repainted examples tend to sell toward the lower end.
