The Nikon 50-300mm f/4.5 Zoom ED Ai is a long-range telephoto zoom for the Nikon F mount, updated to Ai coupling for use on Nikon SLRs from the late 1970s onward. With its constant f/4.5 aperture and ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass, it was aimed at sports, wildlife and press photographers needing a single zoom across the medium and long telephoto range.

UK auction activity on this lens is thin, so its current value should be read with caution: the most recent hammer price we have on file is £110 in November 2025, achieved at saleroom level and excluding buyer's and seller's commission. With only one verified data point in our records to date in 2026, this sits as a guide rather than a firm market price, and clean ED-glass examples in working order can sell for more when they appear. Earlier non-Ai versions and the later Ai-S variant trade separately and should not be used as direct comparables.
