Auction: Leitz Auction 47 (Lot A02305) Title: Nikon 5.6/13mm AI Nikkor
Description:
A very early AI version (production began with serial number 175021 in 1976), in near-mint condition, with excellent optics and original caps. At the time of its introduction, the Nikon 13mm f/5.6 was the world’s widest non-distorting professional SLR lens, offering an extraordinary 118° angle of view. The complex design of 16 elements in 12 groups included Nikon’s Close Range Correction system, ensuring sharpness from infinity to the close-focus distance of 0.3 m. Production was strictly to special order, with only about 350 lenses manufactured between 1976 and 1998. The lens is extremely rare and only seldom appears on the market, particularly in such well-preserved condition. |
