Fed (Type 1)
The FED (Type 1) is a Soviet 35mm rangefinder camera, a screw-mount design produced from the 1930s. It was the first mass-produced FED and positioned as the USSR's domestic answer to contemporary German rangefinders.
With only a single UK auction record on file, the FED (Type 1) is hard to value precisely, but a hammer price of £44 in 2023 indicates the wholesale saleroom level for a working example. As of today, what one of these sells for at auction is highly condition-sensitive: clean, fully functional bodies with original engraving tend to fetch a premium over scuffed users, and prices reflect raw hammer results before commission.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
