Auction: Leitz Auction 46 (Lot A01963) Title: Leica I Mod. A Elmar 'Calfskin'
Description:
Very rare and original Leica Model A, with calfskin leather covering (LEANEKALB). According to Hahne, only 180 examples of the calfskin Leicas were produced in 1930. Many of these were later replaced during restoration by Leitz with regular vulcanite when the genuine leather wore off. So, the number of original calfskin Leicas still in existence today is very low. The offered example is in excellent, original condition; it comes with an ETRIN case, an angle finder and two film spools. It was delivered to Tiranty, Paris on 12.09.1930. The delivery records show the correct note 'Leanekalb' near the serial number. Estimate: Sign in to view |
