Adams Vesta Model A
The Adams Vesta Model A is an early British folding plate camera, produced in London by Adams & Co. It is a wood-and-leather field-style instrument from the late-Victorian / Edwardian era of plate photography, positioned as a hand-and-stand camera for serious amateur and professional use when new.
Sales data for the Vesta Model A is very limited: a single recorded UK auction hammer result from 2015 stands at £400, and there is not enough volume to give a reliable median or range for what one is worth today in 2026. As with most early British plate cameras, condition of the bellows, shutter and original fittings drives value at saleroom level, and complete examples with matching lens and dark slides typically sell for more than stripped bodies.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
