Hasselblad 500 C
The Hasselblad 500 C is a medium-format single-lens reflex camera using 120 roll film in the 6x6cm format. It was the first model in Hasselblad's V-system, a modular system built around interchangeable lenses, film magazines and viewfinders, and was positioned as a professional tool for studio, landscape and commercial photography.
At UK auction in recent years the 500 C body has shown a wide spread of hammer results, with sales history ranging from around £240 to £3,000 and a median near £560 — these are saleroom wholesale levels, before buyer's premium, so retail asking prices today in 2026 tend to sit higher. What a 500 C is worth at hammer depends heavily on whether it sells as a bare body or as a complete outfit with lens and back, and cosmetic condition pushes the price achieved at auction significantly. Clean, fully-serviced examples sell for noticeably more than untested bodies with worn leatherette.
