Auction: Leitz Auction 23 (Lot AI_23_10465) Title: Hasselblad EL DATA CAMERA (HEDC)
Description:
very rare, early authentic for NASA modified 500 EL/M with black anodised finish (this is an original 'Moon' camera and not a replica!). It is from the second generation NASA motor-driven cameras and which was used on Skylab 3 and Skylab 4 missions in 1973 (documentation copies and related information included). Along with other modifications the mirror was removed to reduce weight. A special large locking mechanism was added in order to change film magazines with bulky space gloves on. Similarly a larger, sturdier shutter release plate was added to the camera and the special reseau plate with matching body number '42' to imprint on taken images. It comes with a special NASA Planar 2.8/80mm no.4591809 in black anodised finish with control tabs, also designed for use with space gloves, a black 70mm magazine no.TR400204, engraved 'P/N SEB 33100082- S/N 371 LUNAR SURFACE HASSELBLAD SUPER WIDE CAMERA 70-mm MAGAZINE', body engraved 'P/N SEB 33100040- S/N 1042 HASSELBLAD EL DATA CAMERA' - ex Alain Lazzarini collection (included is the new book by Alain Lazzarini - 'Hasselblad and the Moon' where this camera is illustrated and described) Estimate: EUR 50,000 - EUR 60,000 |
