This release followed the 'Leica MP Edition Hermès' from 2003, marking the second collaboration between Leica and the renowned fashion brand, Hermès. The Leica M7 Edition 'Hermès' is a strictly limited edition model, featuring a silver chrome finish and a choice of two distinctive calfskin leather options—orange and étoupe, both provided by Hermès. Only 100 units of each color were produced.
