Leitz MDa Post 24x27
The Leitz MDa Post 24x27 is a specialised variant of the Leica M-series 35mm rangefinder body, supplied without viewfinder or rangefinder for technical and scientific use. The 24x27 designation refers to its non-standard frame format, and the camera was configured for postal and document-recording applications rather than general photography.
With only two UK auction hammer results on file, the price spread is wide: a 2010 sale closed at £420 while a 2024 example fetched £1,600 at the saleroom. Today, in 2026, that thin record makes any single figure unreliable as a guide to value, and condition together with completeness of the original technical kit is the dominant factor in what an MDa Post sells for.
Sales History
Prices shown are UK auction hammer results — the wholesale level achieved in the saleroom. Neither buyer’s nor seller’s commission is included. Dealer and retail asking prices are typically higher.
